Tommy Crane, Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief

BIO: Tommy Crane is the current Fire Chief here at Marble Falls Fire Rescue. Tommy has 35 years in the fire service, with the last 6 years serving as the Fire Marshal/assistant chief here at Marble Falls Fire Rescue. Prior to Marble Falls Fire Rescue Tommy served 15 years as the Assistant Chief of Prevention for Travis County Emergency Service District (ESD) 2, Pflugerville Fire Department.

After retiring in January 2016 he was excited to return to the fire service after a year of traveling with his wife Sharron.

Tommy began his fire service career with the City of Taylor Fire Department after serving three years with the U.S. Army. In 2001, he went to work for Travis County ESD 2 as the captain over training and was promoted to Assistant Chief of Prevention. He has an associate's degree in fire science from Austin Community College and holds Master Firefighter, Fire Inspector, and Fire Investigator certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. He also holds a Peace Officer License with the State of Texas.



Starla McLaurin, Marble Falls Area EMS Operations Director

BIO: Starla has been with Marble Falls Area EMS for a decade, beginning her career as an EMT in 2014 and advancing to Operations Director in 2021. Prior to this, she served at DSHS in the Office of EMS and Trauma Systems, supporting the Program Director and State EMS Director. She is actively involved with several EMS education and communications advisory boards across central Texas. Her focus has been on teaching and coaching future EMS providers to foster strong systems of excellence. Additionally, she is dedicated to developing the culture of EMS, implementing a “just workplace” and engaging with providers and communities across central Texas.

Like most Texan’s Starla enjoys being outdoors and spend time with family and friends while enjoying some good food and beverages!


Glenn Hanson, Marble Falls Police Chief


BIO: Chief Glenn Hanson was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Sothern Methodist University where he received his degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. While still in college, Chief Hanson began his law enforcement career with the Addison Police Department. He relocated to the Austin area in 1997 and came to Marble Falls PD in 2002. Throughout the course of his career, he has been assigned to bicycle patrol, traffic duty as a motor officer and as a detective in narcotics as well as crimes against children. He also served on the tactical teams at both Addison and Marble Falls. He is now in his fourth year as Chief here in Marble Falls. He is a member of the Texas Association of Chiefs of Police and is a working member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police serving for the past 6 years on their Communications and Technology policy council.
