Community 5K Walk/Run For Recovery

Open Door Recovery House is excited to be holding the 11th Annual Community 5K Walk/Run For Recovery! The event will be on Saturday, May 9th at Harmony Park in Marble Falls. Check-in begins at 7am and the race begins at 8am. This event is a community walk/run, so everyone is welcome….kids, strollers, dogs on leashes, etc.

Open Door is a sober living house for women. They provide housing, food, transportation, classes, and so much more to women in recovery completely free of charge! Open Door is fully funded by individual/corporate donations, foundations, grants, and fundraisers…no federal funding! This is one of two main fundraisers that are held during the year and the goal is to raise $25,000 through this event. That amount is what it costs to feed the ladies at Open Door for one full year, so every little bit helps.

There will be two water stations provided along the course as well as water bottles and bananas at the finish line. The restrooms at Harmony Park will be open for the event. The award ceremony will take place in Harmony Park as soon as the race finishes. There will be a medal for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Mens’, Womens’ and Youth categories. There will also be a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Team winners are determined by the size of the team. There is no age limit for participation.

The price to participate is $50/person for an individual or you can register as a team and pay $40/person. You must have at least five people to register as a team. Remember, the winning team is determined by team size, so the more the merrier!
