Description
Marta Stafford Gallery is hosting a traditional caeldhi, or ceilidh, from 3-5 PM on November 18th. A caeldhi or ceilidh (pronounced KAY-LEE) comes from the old practice of people on the British Isles gathering on long, dark nights and sharing stories, songs, and poems and enjoying music and dancing. It was a way for people to connect.
The caeldhi is free and open to the public. McRedmond will share poems, and others might recite one or two as well. The event will also include music and stories.
People will start gathering at 3 p.m.; the program begins at 3:30 p.m. While it is a social event, COVID-19 protocols such as face coverings and social distancing will be followed to keep visitors safe.
Call the gallery at 830-693-9999 for more information.
