
Assistant Ranch Manager - Candlelight Ranch
The Assistant Ranch Manager (ARM) assists with the overall Ranch maintenance and supervision of property and facilities and wildlife management plan implementation. The ARM assists and coordinates volunteers and contractors to ensure Ranch improvements and repairs are completed in a proper and timely manner. Follows guidance and works as a team with the Ranch Manager to meet the goals of the Ranch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Ranch Manager and Candlelight Ranch Team to ensure the following tasks are completed:
- Annual Wildlife Management plan is followed, documented, and filed with Travis County
- Regular care of Equine
- Care of trees, shrubs, gardens, flowers, and cactus beds
- Janitorial duties
- Ground maintenance: including invasive species removal, mowing, trimming grass, weed pre-emergent, weeding, and fire ant control
- Painting / staining buildings and decks
- Basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Other tasks as required for proper upkeep of property, facilities, and equipment
- Coordinates, supervises and directs volunteers on work projects
- Assists with programs and activities as needed and when time allows
- Performs other duties as assigned
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least one (1) year experience in a job with similar duties to Ranch Hand, property maintenance, handy man, or construction worker
- Prefer some experience caring for ranch animals
- Prefer some experience performing routine maintenance, lawn care, operating a tractor
- Valid Driver’s License required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Ability to evaluate needed repairs and maintenance throughout a Ranch environment
- Adherence to safe work practices
- Knowledge of feeding and care of Ranch animals
- General knowledge of ranch operations and maintenance of Ranch equipment
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work with the CLR team, clients, contractors
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works from the Ranch located between Lago Vista and Marble Falls and live near Candlelight Ranch
- Must provide own transportation to and from the facilities and any meeting locations
- Work is mainly outside in the elements and can be physically demanding
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, hike, drive, and walk the ranch on a regular basis
