Situated on 15 acres in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country, Highland Lakes Canine Rescue is a no-kill 501c3 dog rescue shelter. What makes us unique is we take more behaviorally challenged and medically critical dogs, giving them a chance to rehabilitate and heal in our indoor and huge outdoor kennels with a dog park and agility equipment. Seventy percent of the dogs we adopted out last year were of this type - and now living in happy forever homes. Run 100% on donations, we have a small but mighty staff and fabulous volunteers who walk our dogs on a mile long walking trail around our property.
